I got this notice from the Red Cross
Hurricane Lane will be crossing into
Central Pacific waters as a Category 4 hurricane this afternoon.
Hurricane Lane is expected to track similarly to Hurricane Hector.
However, there is more probability that this storm will turn Northwest
as it approaches the islands. Please stay tuned. The possibility of
effects from this storm is currently projected for Wednesday on Oahu.
NOAA and Military assets will fly through the storm to better determine
the storm’s position and strength starting late Sunday.
Red Cross is
planning with Honolulu County government to open evacuation shelters if
needed.
