Department of Labor Announces the Closure of the Kaneohe Office Two Days after it closes

Special Assistant to the Director of Labor James P. Hardway issued a press release announcing the closure and relocation of the Kaneohe Unemployment Office two days after the event. See, "Late Notice" . It was noted that the April Kaneohe Neighborhood Board meeting that the community had no prior notice of the change and was not given an opportunity to comment. The Director of Labor and Industrial Relations, Darwin Ching, cited rent increase and the loss of federal funds as the reasons for his decision to close the Kaneohe office.

Do you think that the State Department of Labor should have given the community more notice in this case?

I'm not sorry to see it close. It was an eyesore from the outside and hopefully the new tenant will clean it up.
