Aloha Neighborhood Board Members:
It's that time of year again when our office here at the Hawai'i State Capitol begins to look for a motivated high school student from Windward O'ahu to work with us as a paid intern during the 2009 Legislative Session.
As a student at Castle High School, the opportunity I had to work at the State Legislature made it very clear to me that each person can make a difference if they understand how the legislative process works. Our goal has been to provide this kind of learning experience to a select student each legislative session.
Our "A Capitol Experience" (ACE) Internship Program will be fielding applications from Olomana, Kalāheo, Kailua and Castle High Schools, as well as all interested Windward O'ahu students, during the next few weeks. We ask for your assistance in identifying and encouraging students you know to apply.
All applications must be received by December 5, 2008. At that time, personal interviews may be scheduled. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact my Community Liaison, Kamakana Kaimuloa, at 587-7215 or via email at k.kaimuloa@capitol.hawaii.gov.
Thank you for helping us make our ACE Internship Program a great success!
