It is recommended that everyone who is in a flood zone have insurance. The flood zone maps are independent of the tsunami maps. Flood zone maps are based on the probability of flooding during a 100 year storm.
Know you're potential for flooding by visiting the flood zone maps. To see your area, first click on the zoom in tab and then click on the area of the island you are interested in. You may need to zoom in multiple times to get the detail on your specific lot.
